3D printers connect the circle of co-creation in ADVICS Group

ADVICS Group aims for sustainable growth by implementing advanced technology and strengthening on-site capabilities. As part of this, in July 2024, ADVICS (Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture) and AS Brake Systems (Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture) held the "3D Printer Mutual Study Group," a forum for co-creation that transcends companies and departments.
Employees from various departments participated in this workshop, bringing together the knowledge and ingenuity they have acquired in their daily work. In the first part of the exhibition, over 100 examples of 3D printer use were introduced, and participants showed great interest in the diversity and ingenuity of the examples.

In the second part, a case study session, 3D printer usage examples based on shape, material, usage conditions, and application were introduced. The venue was almost full, and after the presentations many questions were asked, highlighting the high level of interest of the participating employees.
Participants commented, "It was very meaningful to learn about advanced technology and creative ideas. I would like to put it to use in my own department."

Front-loading on-site improvement using 3D printers

As part of its business reforms, the Production Technology Department is working on front-loading problem-solving using 3D printers.
"Front-loading" is an approach to product development projects in which problems that tend to occur in later processes are resolved in advance at the early stages of design and planning. This prevents rework and increased costs, and simultaneously improves development speed and quality.
In addition, they created desk lamps of the company newsletter's mascot character using a 3D printer and gave them to employees as gifts. The fusion of playfulness and technology symbolizes the flexible and creative corporate culture of ADVICS.

Accelerating digital transformation with 3D scanners and 3D models

In order to further expand the use of 3D printers, it is essential to obtain and utilize highly accurate 3D data. ADVICS promotes DX in a more practical manner by combining 3D scanners and 3D models. We also actively use 3D data in evaluation work and improvement activities.
In March 2025, ADVICS held the "3D Manufacturing Exhibition." Many employees participated, and it was an opportunity to further accelerate data visualization and business efficiency using 3D models, including reverse engineering*, benchmarking, product development, and analysis of quality issues.
* Technology that analyzes existing products and systems to clarify their structure and mechanisms. It can be used to improve or redesign products, or to reacquire design information.

Fostering a culture of co-creation that connects technology and people

At ADVICS Group, we promote learning within the group through the sharing of technologies and case studies, and foster a culture of co-creation. We will continue to use the power of DX to shape ideas and challenges born from the field, accelerating technological innovation and business transformation, while providing better products and services and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
