The origins of ADVICS' challenge
In 2001, AISIN (now AISIN), Denso, and Sumitomo Electric Industries, Japan's leading brake manufacturers, came together to form ADVICS, aiming to become the world's number one brake system supplier. Starting with approximately 700 employees and one base, this challenge has now evolved into a global company with 4,913 employees on its own and 13,724 employees on a consolidated basis*, and 31 bases in 11 countries*. The driving force behind this has been the slogan that has been upheld since the company's founding: One Team, One Dream. It is a pledge to move forward toward one dream, transcending company, department, country, and language. These words symbolize ADVICS culture.

The in-house paper newsletter "One" deepens bonds within ADVICS
The company newsletter "One," which began as a print publication, was launched in 2006 to commemorate the company's fifth anniversary. The name, chosen through an open call from employees, embodies our strong desire to be "the world's No. 1 brake system supplier" and "One Team, One Dream."
As a communication magazine aimed at team building, including families, it is published four times a year and distributed to all employees in Japan. In 2013, we began producing English and Chinese versions, fostering a sense of unity with our overseas bases. A total of 59 issues (28 in English and Chinese) have been published over 14 years. The articles are filled with the hard work of our employees, the bonds between colleagues and their families, and the warmth that is characteristic of ADVICS.

Online company newsletter connects hearts across distances
In 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic led to widespread work from home and the cancellation of all company events. Opportunities for employees to gather together with smiles on their faces drastically decreased. "We want to communicate because we can't meet in person," "We want to connect even when we're apart" -- the online company newsletter was born from this idea.
The concept is "a communication tool that allows employees and their families to enjoy ADVICS even more." It inherits the spirit and friendly design of the paper company newsletter "One," and is named "Web One." It has evolved into a place that more freely and more accessible conveys the "now" of ADVICS in a timely manner. When it was first launched, there was one person in charge, and the goal was to update the site four times a month. Currently, nine members, working concurrently with other duties, publish 20 to 25 articles per month.

The main characters of the company newsletter are our employees. From innovative technologies born in Plant and the challenges each department faces, to improvement activities undertaken together with colleagues, club activities, company events, and a wide range of hobbies, the wide range of articles is packed with the charm of the "people" that is characteristic of ADVICS. The newsletter also embodies the culture unique to an auto parts manufacturer. Many employees love cars and motorcycles, and the popular section "Show off my favorite car" always attracts attention.

Furthermore, there are many projects that involve families, such as mascot character recruitment and voting, photo contests, and the "ADVICS Children's Newsletter." The company newsletter serves as a bridge connecting workplaces, people, and companies with families.

One Team's efforts to secure top 10 spot for company newsletter in Japan
The current in-house newsletter is supported by an editorial team that handles external public relations, sustainability promotion, sports promotion, motorsports, and more, as well as our employees. "One Team, One Dream" - as the motto goes, the in-house newsletter is developed through the power of the team.
Our company's in-house newsletter has also been highly praised outside the company, and in 2022, on our first submission, we won the Bronze Award in the Web/App In-house Newsletter category across all media at the In-house Newsletter Awards sponsored by WithWorks Co., Ltd. In our second attempt in 2025, we won the Silver Award, placing us in the top 10 nationwide. The judges' praise included, "The friendly, casual atmosphere on the screen was a pleasant surprise, as the company's policies and measures related to production, technology, and human resources were cleverly communicated," "I've seen a variety of online in-house newsletters, but honestly, this was the most enjoyable one I've ever read," and "It was exciting to see how passionate our employees are about cars."

25th Anniversary and Beyond: Envisioning the Future with Our In-House Newsletter
ADVICS will celebrate its 25th anniversary in fiscal year 2026. Over the course of our quarter-century journey, we have taken on countless challenges. Even as the company grows, there is one value we want to continue to uphold. That is, that each and every employee plays a key role at ADVICS. One Team, One Dream. Our in-house newsletter connects this belief. By listening to the voices of our employees and conveying their daily challenges and hopes for the future, our in-house newsletter continues to evolve. And together with our in-house newsletter, we will paint a picture of the future that lies beyond.
